Vision Statement

Obey God's commands, and follow His specific leading, to "Look after orphans" (James 1:27) and "Go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). These purposes are accomplished from a passion to help needy, fatherless children by setting up and overseeing children's homes, operated by Nepali Christians, for Hindu orphans in Nepal, and equipping each child by providing education and Christian training such that they possess the potential to contribute to their community and influence their nation for Christ.

Our Commitments

Scriptural Proclamation

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." - James 1:27

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" - Matthew 28:19

Statement of Faith

  1. The scriptures are the inspired and inerrant Word of God and the final authority on all matters.
  2. There is on eternal God existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  3. The Son, Jesus Christ, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life on earth, paid the penalty for our sin and rebellion by dying on the cross, thus becoming the Redeemer of a lost world, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven where He is our high priest and advocate.
  4. Jesus Christ is the head of the church, His bride, which exists to glorify God and to make Christ known throughout the earth.
  5. The Holy Spirity convicts man of sin, draws him to belief in Christ, dwells in each believer, and equips and empowers believers for godly living and service.
  6. God created man in His image for fellowship with Him. However, man rebelled and became spiritually dead in sin.
  7. To restore spiritual life and fellowship, man needs salvation, which comes through God's saving grace, not by human workds, and must be received personally by repentance and faith.
  8. In the end times, Christ will come a second time, all men will experience bodily resurrection and judgment, and those who have received spiritual life through God's saving grace will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.

Church/ Home Model

Our mission is achieved as we provide holistic care to orphans in the context of a family-environment, with ties to a local church.

Confronting an Orphan Crisis

AIDS, war, poverty, and famine have created a worldwide tragedy. Over 10 million orphans under the age of 15 are now struggling for survival with both parents dead. 108 million children have lost a mother, a father, or live parentless. More than 13.4 million children are AIDS Orphans, the fastest growing orphan population. Studies and news reports indicate that there are more than 20 million AIDS Orphans still alive. Such is the situation in Nepal as well. Life for these parentless children in Nepal is desperate. They are forced to beg for food. They are often the victims of sexual predators and violent assaults because there are no adults left to care for them. Many of them end up living on the streets or urban garbage dumps trying to find food to eat or trash to sell.

God tells us He has a special concern for orphans. He is the "Father to the fatherless," and He expects His Church to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. It was written in James 1:27, "pure and undefiled religion is to care for orphans and widows in their distress." Havens of Hope has already rescued many orphans in Nepal and given them good care in two church based orphan homes.

Are you or your group interested in joining our mission to restore the lives of needy orphans? We are trying to find people willing to connect with and support each of these children's homes. With your help, hundreds and thousands of more orphans will be rescued, cared for, and given another chance at living a childhood.
